Accessories 30 mm Inserts - Cups

Easier to keep everything clean and some say these surfaces taste better, I have not eaten one myself!

Why just 30mm, @Jeff...? I have a bunch of dif 25mm quartz and a SiC insert. That's the only way I do concentrates now. The banger need to be cleaned a lot less often cuz you clean the inserts instead. I find the biggest advantage to inserts are the lowwww temps and then being able to pull the insert if you've had too much and need a break... then when you recover, you can re-drop it.... sometimes I'll do that 5-6 times if it's a big dab.

Please explain further how inserts can be used to get lower temperatures.
Well, instead of doing the whole dab in one or two hits at a higher temp, set the controller to a lower temp, like say 400F, drop the loaded insert, and slowly start pulling as it all comes up to temp. Then just sip away until you want a break, then take the insert out. You'd be surpised how much vapor can be in wax in the 400-420 range..

Yesterday I decided it was time to swap out and clean one of my 710Coils 25mm deep-dish opaque-bottom bangers and SiC insert after running them together for a little over 2.5 days. So, maybe around 20+ reg to very good sized dabs done periodically throughout that time. If I'm around the house, I usually only shut it off when I plan on getting more than 2 hours of sleep, or maintenance. Otherwise, unless I leave the house, it's always at temp ready to go. I'll often split up one dab by re-dropping the insert over a half hour or two, even more... I'm always relaxed and taking my time enjoying all the low temp flavors.

Pre-coil removal. Note the 3 clips, I like the coil mounted tightly and firmly at all times trying to maintain maximum overall direct contact so as to hold temps more steady and accurately:

Post coil removal. This coil was never removed once during its entire two and a half day life attached to the banger. Only a quick wet q-tip between each hit for the banger and occasionally I'll take the banger and coil off the rig together and swab the tube and joint. The insert gets pulled and squirted with iso hot and thoroughly swabbed between full dabs and quickly torched when I'm too lazy:

Dirty insert ready for a quick torch:

Post torch. Like new! Now after this, I like to "season" it a little with a little worked in reclaim/resin all over so it's smooth and shiny and ready for use (sorry, no pic of that, I couldn't wait for a fresh (low temp marathon) DAB and forgot...! Edit: because of the level of detail even of these crappy phone pics, the insert looks very very smooth irl, almost like metal, especially after the "seasoning'"

No pics of the banger either cuz that's soaking an a Dark Crystal bath until called upon...

Edit: Just saw this, maybe gonna try this method next (but actually CLEAN it, man, that thing is NASTY!!!):

Low Temp Quartz Banger Clean (without ISO!)

From this site: https://rcctools.com/banger-clean-iso/ They look like the exact same (not sure) insert for $3 less there, too, btw...

I cannot recommend dirtying up a clean insert before use...just not cricket!

not "dirty" at all, no way...! A very tiny bit lightly worked in... otherwise the SiC surface to me seems almost sponge-like... like a chunk of ceramic tile. After, it almost looks like metal... not ugly.... plus i think it helps slip it in and out of the deep-dish banger.... almost a tight fit...! I'd say just about perfect, actually!
