Tips Cannabis simple syrup

May follow through with an idea I had for running the syrup through the magical butter machine
It may do a better job than the hand mixer
Still have to do the hand mixer to keep it minimal as possible
Want a homogenizer with sonication
May have to settle for a milkshake mixer with a vibrator thrown in set on earthquake
The slog of research

Edit: The above is for an attempt to get close to nano emulsion

Just posted this in a message to Mom

This is infused stevia
If you can get past the looks (which I think I can clean up a little for recreation) it is potent and works well
The emulsion process was hindered a bit by the lack of volume in the stevia
Had to resort to a milk frother (heat your frother blades up by putting the tips in some boiling water, then dry and start mixing immediately)
I think we can get a better infusion and distribution of the cannabis oil with more stevia
The problem is that this product has to be used quickly
Dries like laquer instead of forming crystals making it hard to recover if you leave it exposed to air

Here is some flower in the three forward mason jars
Decarbed and ready for extraction and filtering
Next pic is the multi stage filtering on the left and single stage filtering on the right (difference in color)
Next pic is my area being set up for processing
Now if I can figure out my phone we're in business

Just a throw in
I use these filters when processing large amounts of tincture
They filter fast and clean up the tincture for an easier run through a Buchner or just use as is if you don't mind the cannabis taste

Time stamp and the beginning of a line of reductions of varying potency for different projects
I'm going to bomb the thread with pics so if it gets to be too much lmk Mom

It will be poured onto simple syrup for the rest of the reduction before being mixed with a simple syrup that has been treated with 210S

Back from Bonfire
Awesome crowd
No yelling, fighting or overly intoxicated
Much respect to the millenials
So cool to just light up/vape whenever wherever
The portable toilets smelled like weed
You stood in a giant cloud, everyone was smoking joints
When the porta-potties don't smell awful you have a fairly successful event on that basis alone

It looked and felt a bit corporate which was nice from an attendee standpoint, I know hypocrite
Informative and well organized
Bit of a cash grab
Appears to look like a way to sell some over stock along with the good stuff
I was sober the entire time
Went to talk shop
Tight lipped and reluctant until I started repeating their processes to them
Really its NOT rocket science, 6th grade science competition maybe

All their edibles were from concentrate
Good quality, taste great
Not much flower extraction going on with the people selling the edibles
They buy concentrate, so I'll keep working with the flower to perfect the filtration process as best as I can for the home grower and folks who can only get flower

This fall/winter will begin my concentrate extraction and edible development for DIY
From the ground up learning here so it will be mistake laden

Sifting the cocoa for a better mixture
Compensate for 1/4 cup of dry cocoa by adding a tablespoon to recipe for a total of 17 tablespoons from 1 cup (16 tablespoons) and the rest of the ingredients (dash of salt and a half teaspoon of vanilla)
The cocoa will bind with the syrup and the whole mixture will have increased density
I do not think there will be a dramatic increase in volume from the addition of the dry cocoa

Will attempt .5% weight to bind the cannabis oil hoping for a thinner syrup than the rough take
This is by request and we can compare the two

The filtering process about to start
Just to clarify
This is for folks who only use flower to make their own concentrates
I cannot tolerate the cannabis taste in edibles so this process helps the edibles be more edible to me
There are many different ways to filter
Pick one that works for you

I would rely on my celite/carbon filtering but the extraction process was cool
Heat pulls too many undesirables but the evaporation method for extraction is going to make me try his extraction and filter my way

Just a note on the above video apple compote 2
During the explanation process I was referencing the percentage of 210S to use in the emulsion
The statement should have been point five percent .5% to two percent 2% regarding the amount to use
In this case I used 2% of weight 250-260 grams of simple syrup
The 250-260 grams is an expression I use to cover the variables
Not all measuring devices measure the same so a little plus/minus when approaching
If you hear 5% at all anywhere in the video please disregard it

After doing some math I came to the following for dosage
I gram of compote is equal to 1.5 milligrams of thc
22 grams of compote at 33 milligrams can constitute a serving (my target is between 25-50 milligrams a serving)
22 grams of compote is equal to roughly 1 tablespoon
Again none of this is absolute and is a GUESSTIMATE until we can readily get thc percentages consistently

Here is the compote in an ice cube tray
Single dose, 22 grams roughly, about a tablespoon per cube
Defrosted one in hot tap water in a pan
The apples held up nicely

I'm back!!
With a worse attitude

Going to contact and hopefully hook up with these folks
Get a comprehensive analysis of the ABV extraction as well as the syrup and some infused products

Think I'm just going to stay in the edibles section posting updates
Have to rethink my whole forum experience
I was told "you are not going to survive" on another site
How prophetic

Thinking of taking several samples of the ABV tincture for processing
Could do a single 2 stage run which is the base method most folks would perform
Then there is a double, triple run that can be performed using the same solvent
Ok to post Sams videos here Mom
The multiple runs on the same solvent is going to be pretty good and I can do one with ABV
It will be YouTube and not site related
Got warned for posting a link to another site from a different cannabis site (not here)
Really putting the word community to the test aren't we?

Of course it's okay. And would further explain your process. Please do.

Left out that the ABV tincture was going to mcr labs for processing to determine potency
My thoughts are you can do an extraction, keep it in the freezer and use that tincture to perform your next extraction
Still to be determined is how many times you can repeat the process
Finally find out what's in ABV
Cannot set up for TLC in the house
Need a hood, but I might build a little area when I get the deck replaced

IMG_20210821_110700.jpgIMG_20210821_113318.jpg

About 7 grams of vaped flower
In the freezer for 24 hours then extraction
The lab requires minimal amounts to test so I will test for potency first
Test multiple solvent runs next
Then test a filtered ABV tincture
This is all based on something worthwhile being in that first test

Infused Chocolate Syrup

Tools
2 vessels (beakers or mason jars work well)
Small pan with a trivet
Small fan
Silicone spatula
Small metal scientific spoon/spatula
Measuring spoons/ up
Immersion blender
Gram scale (optional)
Ingredients
Water
1 Cup rich syrup (1 cup water 2 cups sugar) Cook’s illustrated method (divided ½ cup in each vessel)
Tincture made with 6 to 7 Grams flower, reduced to under 10ml
A few drops of Everclear
2.6 Grams (aprox 1 level TEAspoon) Modernist Pantry 210S (For thin syrup. Double this for thick syrup)
½ Cup Dutch processed cocoa (such as Droste)
½ TEAspoon vanilla extract
Dash salt

Instructions
Fill pan ½ full of water.
Place vessel with ½ cup syrup on trivet. Bring water to a boil.
Pour the concentrated tincture into the syrup in the vessel. Use several drops of Everclear to get as much tincture as possible. Use a fan to disperse fumes and allow the alcohol to evaporate from the tincture (aprox 15 minutes).
In the 2nd vessel combine ½ cup of syrup with 2.6 Grams 210S (thin syrup) or 5.2 Grams (thick syrup). Sprinkle the 210S over the syrup and blend with immersion blender, scraping blender at least once with silicone spatula.
When thoroughly blended, pour the syrup with the 210S into the vessel with the evaporated tincture using the silicone spatula to scrape out as much as possible. Combine with the immersion blender. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the vessel with the immersion blender to insure complete incorporation.
Add half of the cocoa and blend fully, scraping down the immersion blender at least once.
Add the vanilla and salt and combine using the immersion blender.
Add the rest of the cocoa and combine.
Pour into an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
1 TABLEspoon is equal to roughly 25mg. Mix into milk, pour over ice cream or do whatever you do with chocolate syrup.

any feedback appreciated
when i do the channel it will be more polished both video and text
incorporate some overlay into the production
