Glass Glass adapters

So I was tooling around DHGate the other day looking at bubblers..... and lo and behold look what I found...

While I'm a huge supporter of @Oregonglassblower, these are substantially cheaper than the Cloud Buddy he offers. But may not be as nice because of it (or may be made from inferior glass). I've purchased a couple to check it out and do a comparison in quality and durability. If I like it, I'll include one of them in a giveaway.

Yeah, I've posted about OGB and the Cloud Buddy many times on other boards and someone reached out to Steven and they made them. There was a bit of a discussion about it that went on.

I'm sure they are not as nice as OGB, but it does put them into reach of many for whom the OGB models are too dear.

I'm going to weigh in on the cheap versions of the Cloud Buddy...... I'm not a fan. They are really cheaply made (which stands to reason considering their cost of 2 for $13.50). I didn't realize that you got two of them when I made my purchase. And ended up with 4 of them lol. However, I've already broken two. And that was with 'normal' handling and before I even had a chance to use them. The glass used in these is super thin.

Save yourself the aggravation. Just spend the extra money and go with Mike at @Oregonglassblower . His are solid and I still have the og unit that I received about 4 years ago. That one has survived several falls and mishaps and is still going strong. For someone who breaks glass like I do, that's a miracle.

Mike @Oregonglassblower uses really outstanding quality in his craft!

Just an update, I just checked and have seen that I have been using these adapters daily for 3 months, washed in the dishwasher nightly and the only problem I have had was partly my fault, I put a freezing cold CF/x S/S WPA in it straight on flat out and a part of the lip broke off due to the expansion.
On that note, for the price, I would still recommend them.

Yeah... yours seem different than the ones I bought off DHGate and are from another seller. As you said; stubbier. Might make them stronger. They're cheaper too. Certainly nothing to lose at that price.

Nice, you can use a vapcap as the carb plug!

I'm so excited I found this thread. I have a deep love for adapters. I know they aren't glamorous, but they make possibilities. Got a new glass piece yesterday. It was a rig with 14mm male. First thing I did was grab my new 14mm F to 14mm F strait adapter so I could continue using the wpa I had set up. @momofthegoons , I love the carrying case you have for taking your adapters to your cabin. Seriously handy.

If you buy the twenty at a time you get a discount..........seriously like under twenty bucks delivered off the gate.
Same with rimmed basket screens and such I may have a problem when it comes to accessorizing my accessories with adapters from china.

Glad you bumped this thread. As I read it, I kept thinking a glass carb from thick ass glass would be the perfect add on to any rig, then @Ramahs posted one. Great.

I bought six of the carbs in 14&18mm a few years ago, I gave two away and still have the rest, although my 10mm plug is chipped but still funtionable on one. I mean it's on a dab pipe, so it's kinda par for the course. My last two burns occurred there too, lol.

@arb My six seems pretty minor compared to your orders, lol.

I might try the one with the 10mm carb plug just so I can use my M as a carb cap at least that will not break when I drop it (not if I drop it).:smilie-devil:

I have both of these cloud buddy carb cap adaptors
I use them both
I used to like the y shape with smaller cap (14mm on mine), now I seem to be using the horizontal shape one with bigger cap (18mm) more
Not sure why

Dhgate all day for my glass
