The taste was similar to pastichio...although the spices are a bit different. Pastichio has cinnamon whereas this sauce didn't.MOTG, Lasagna with bechamel reminds me of
how greeks make pastichio..similar?

prefer using no boil sheets, i can b lazy sometimes when prepping for high volume.

And I did use the no boil sheets (or oven ready)... but I parboiled them a minute this time so that they were flexible. I find they break when spreading the sauces and cheese otherwise.
I have a hankering for mousakka.... that might have to be the next sheet pan of goodness I make.
