Lunacy We all gotta eat, right? (Food Porn)

Finally had a chance to try out using the sous vide for decarb. There was no smell at all during the decarb process.

We made the peanut butter cookies from the "BraveTart" cookbook:

It turns out that the peanut butter cookie is a good choice. This particular cookie uses ground up honey roasted peanuts for much of the flour, so there is quite a strong peanut flavor. The cookies smell and taste like fresh herb. The herb flavor is very prominent and the strength of the peanut flavor acts as a good offset for the herb taste. No complaints from any of our guinea pigs about the flavor and definite praise for the effects of one cookie.

Always great food in Spain.

Now i can't afford fancy steaks but a nice bit of medium rare chicken gets me going every time. By going I mean racing to the bathroom shitting thru the eye of a needle within the hour.

Anyone ever been to a conveyor belt sushi bar? Oddly enough it's on my list of things to eat that may kill me. :whoa:

Being a bit of a turophile, I find this both intriguing and disgusting.

This place is inspired by conveyor belt sushi bars.

Conveyor belt cheese bar Pick & Cheese.

British cheese & natural wine, done differently.

The world’s first cheese conveyor belt restaurant in the heart of London’s West End.

Choose from over 25 different cheeses, all sourced from around the UK.

Each paired with individual condiments & small producer wines.

You mean a sushi train? I have one about 150 yards from where I live. They are everywhere in Sydney. It is simple as each plate colour is a different price so you just grab what you want as you want it. Just make sure you pick a busy place. If you have a short wait to get a spot even better :hungry:.

A few food pics from this weekend....

Last night's dinner; barbecued pork loin, salad, fresh corn, zucchini casserole. Not shown are the Hassleback potatoes... I'm dieting lol. Sort of.... Forgive the 'table top.' It's the unfinished top to the bar we're buiding. And no... those are NOT my ZigZags...

This morning's fare... french toast made with Brioche bread...

Thanks!

What goes into your zucchini casserole?

Zucchini, green pepper, onion, sharp cheddar cheese, panko, olive oil, egg, basil, salt and pepper. It's so good. I found it in Bon Appetit years ago.

As to the french toast... sigh... I would have loved some syrup. But it was bad enough I was having two pieces of bread that had been fried... god I hate dieting.

Okay, sushi train it is.
I'm not opposed to the idea, but keeping the food at the proper temperature concerns me.

I like sushi but not sashimi. And this coming from someone with an experimental palette. I can't do raw meats/fish. I've tried beef tartar and I liked it but wouldn't seek it out on a menu.

Good luck to you on the sushi train!
