Braised medallions of venison backstrap (deer filet mignon, if you will) with baby portabella mushroom and shallots in a red wine and cream sauce over wide egg noodles. It was wonderful. Recipe for doing it with beef can be found here:

Oh, the recipe calls for beef broth and I used beef stock....go with the broth if you have a choice as the stock when reduced was just a bit too dense tasting IMO.

Did a bit of cooking yesterday....
Guacamole..
Marinated some flank steak.... served it up with roasted butternut squash and green beans
And made an old fashioned dessert; Apple Blackberry Brown Betty. Served with freshly whipped, sweetened cream.

Yes it is. But…. I was also using old yeast this time so it was a bit more dense than usual.
