John Prine is considered country. Now... I'm not so sure that I agree that he's 'true country' but I'm running with it.



I saw him in Steamboat Springs, CO back in the 70's; right about when this song was released. Fabulous show in a real small venue.

I've seen him around that time in a hotel in Jackson MI.

So, I'm not a big fan of current country which often seems like pop music with bigger smiles and whiter teeth. But, I think Jennifer Nettles is an outstanding vocal artist (and ain't bad to look at either). So yeah, bit poppish but still....this lady can sing.
