Cannabis for Lymphoma
Medical Marijuana For Lymphoma Treatments

LYMPHOMA.jpg

Lymphoma is a form of cancer that attacks the cells found in the immune system, which are responsible for fighting infection. These cells, known as lymphocytes, are found in the bone marrow, lymph nodes, thymus, spleen, and other parts of the body.

There are two forms of lymphoma: non-Hodgkin, which is the most common form, and Hodgkin lymphoma. Both forms of lymphoma attack different lymphocytes, resulting in different symptoms, growth, and a different response to cancer treatment.

Symptoms of lymphoma include swollen lymph nodes, shortness of breath, coughing, night sweats, fever, stomach pain, itching, and weight loss. Lymphoma can affect people of any age although it’s one of the most common cancers among young people. There are many treatment options available, and there is usually a good survival rate for patients. However there are certain factors that affect survival and prognosis especially the stage of cancer upon diagnosis. Chemotherapy and radiation are often recommended for patients, although these can have severe side effects.

How Cannabis Can Help?

A study published in the National Institute of Health and PLoS One journal shows that cannabis is promising in the treatment of Hodgkin lymphoma. The study was conducted by researchers in Germany, and they studied the distribution of CB1 receptors in primary cases of patients with Hodgkins lymphoma. The researchers concluded that “The present study identifies CB1 as a feature of HL, which might serve as a potential selective target in the treatment of Hodgkin lymphoma.”

Joanne Crowther’s Story

Joanne Crowther used cannabis oil to help her survive large b-cell lymphoma. During the summer of 2009, Joanne was diagnosed with the condition, which was treated with chemotherapy by February 2010. However, she suffered from extreme nausea as well as pneumonia (which required her to be hospitalized again) and febrile neutropenia, a form of fever that results from an extremely low white blood cell count.

In March 2010, Joanne underwent an MRI which revealed cancerous lesions in the brain. She had to undergo whole brain radiation. She was responding well to the treatments and was even able to participate in a half marathon. But by November 2011, she discovered a 3.2x2.5cm mass in her left thigh, and doctors said it was connected to her large b-cell inter-vascular lymphoma. Despite the successful removal of the mass, the lymphoma was not cured. In 2012, Joanne started taking medications to treat further complications of her lymphoma. Another cancer lesion was found in her head, and tests revealed even more cancerous lesions. She underwent a total of 5 shots of radiation for the new growths discovered.

In February 2012 Joanne started taking chemotherapy drugs but suffered from complications, which only ended when she stopped taking chemotherapy treatments. By May 2012, Joanne started taking cannabis oil in small doses the size of a rice grain. She increased her dosage to a gram of cannabis oil a day, and began experiencing therapeutic effects within just two weeks. She was feeling better and had a better appetite.

By July 2012, Joanne underwent a follow up exam which revealed that the mass “actually regressed spontaneously”. By Septembe 2012 she was in complete remission, as she was continuously taking hemp oil supplements.

Joe Crowe’s Story

JOECROW.jpg

Joe Crowe has been battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma for 11 years. After he started taking cannabis oil, a large tumor found on his upper chest began to shrink. After 5 months the tumor had completely gone. Joe went in for a CAT scan and he was declared cancer-free, for the first time in 11 years.

During his over a decade long battle against cancer, Joe underwent almost everything including bone marrow transplants, chemotherapy, and medication. All it took to cure him of his cancer was around one pound of high quality cannabis, which was made into oil. Because of his experience, Joe has come forward publicly and helps people heal using cannabis oil.

Todd Herstein’s Story

Todd Herstein was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma back in 2004. Todd has been using cannabis oil for over a decade, which has helped him treat his cancer and improve quality of life.

When he was diagnosed, Todd’s doctor told him that he only had 18 months to live. He has already been using cannabis recreationally since his teens, but by the time of his diagnosis he started participating in clinical trials in St. Louis. Using cannabis helped him stay mobile, reduced the pain he felt in his lower limbs, and provided him emotional relief from the diagnosis.

How Cannabis is Helping Your Lymphatic System and You Don't Even Know It
Medical marijuana is helping clean up your lymphatic system

The Lymphatic System is one of the most important parts of the human body. Interestingly enough, not many people pay attention to it at all. Many illnesses are related to the lymphatic system. It forms part of the immune system and untreated lymphological problems can cause serious disorders. The lymphatic system can be seen as the highway of the immune system where immune cells get transported.

What Functions does the Lymphatic System Have?

The lymphatic system is literally a drainage system. It has a network of fine tubes all over the body. It consists of lymph nodes that drain fluid that leaked from the blood vessels into the tissues back to the bloodstream. The purpose of the lymphatic system is to:

Control and manage fluid levels in the body

Respond to bacteria and act on them

Take care of cancer cells

Take care of cells that could cause illnesses

Absorb some of the fats in our diet from the intestines

The lymph nodes work together with the spleen and the thymus to release lymphocytes or white blood cells whenever there is a need for antibodies against bacteria, viruses or any other abnormality.

How do you know that your Lymphatic System is out of Control?

One of the first symptoms of a disorderly lymphatic system is Lymphedema. This results in swelling of legs and arms and even your fingers or toes. You might experience a heaviness around the area. Other symptoms could also include:

  • Skin changes and skin discoloration
  • Blisters and infections}
  • Fluid leaking through the skin
  • Breathing and swallowing problems when it is in the neck
When lymphatic problems are not treated, it can develop into more serious problems like:

  • Cancer like Lymphoma
  • Hodgkin Lymphoma
  • Lymphoedema
CBD Oil: An Effective Treatment for the Lymphatic System

CBD or Cannabidiol is very effective in the treatment of the Lymphatic System. We have already seen that the lymphatic system includes lymph nodes, lymph vessels, the spleen, tonsils, adenoids, and the thymus gland. Bone marrow and lymphocytes also form part of this very important system of our bodies.

The cannabinoids in CBD interacts with our endocannabinoid system. Together the aim is to create homeostasis. CB1 and CB2 receptors are found in the brain, the digestive, and lymphatic system. Cannabinoids bind very well with lipids and as a result increase significantly intestinal lymphatic transport. The lymphatic system is crucial in detoxifying the immune system. Weirdly, doctors often overlook the lymphatic system for finding the cause for chronic diseases. To get the lymphatic system to work in optimal condition should be a prime focal point.

Detoxing the lymphatic system is a very good way to ensure good health. This can be done by eating wholesome food, do exercises, deep breathing, a cleaner environment, and dry brushing and messaging. Messaging the body with a high-quality CBD oil has an amazing effect on helping the lymphatic system to detox and work at peak condition.

The Cannabinoid CBG and the Lymphatic System

CBG or Cannabigerol is also a cannabinoid with amazing benefits. Similar to CBD, it has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsive, antibacterial, anti-insomnia, and antiproliferative properties. The anti-inflammatory properties make CBG a very effective cannabinoid to treat lymph node inflammation.

What is Lymph node Inflammation?

Lymph nodes are very small oval-shaped organs that carry the immune cells to invade and attack anything like viruses and foreign attackers. Lymph nodes also are known as lymph glands. They are found in places like the neck, armpits, and groin. When you get sick, the lymph nodes get swollen and painful as it works in getting rid of the bacteria or viruses.

What happens when your lymph nodes are inflamed?

The symptoms of having inflamed lymph nodes are:

  • Fever and night sweats
  • Appetite loss and abdominal pain
  • Sore throat and runny nose
  • Local infection
  • Red spots over the body (sometimes)
  • Inflammation of multiple lymph nodes or just one
Using CBG to treat the Inflammation

The CBG cannabinoids interact with the cannabinoid receptors and help to relieve inflammation and pain. It helps to:

  • Relieve Chronic Pain – CBG has proven to relieve not just pain, but also neuropathic issues related to chemotherapy and autoimmune disorders
  • Stops Nausea and Vomiting – The antiemetic properties of stops nausea and vomiting. It is especially helpful when something like chemotherapy is applied.
  • Promotes Healthy Sleeping Patterns- Sleep often gets disturbed when a person is sick. Cannabigerol helps people to sleep deeper and sounder. During sleep, the body heals faster.
  • Lowers Anxiety – CBG helps to restrict the neurotransmitter GABA and as a result, reduces the anxiety that is caused by inflamed lymph nodes.
Final Thoughts

The importance of the lymphatic system is very much misunderstood. People tend to not pay too much attention to the lymphatic system. Seeing that it is the drainage system of the body, a healthy lymphatic system promotes a healthy body. Cannabis is very effective in helping the lymphatic system to bring homeostasis to the body as a whole.
