Lunacy Why Can't I Sleep ...

EveryDayAmnesiac

Let's go prune some power lines.
... without alcohol?

Tried melatonin.

Tried valerian.

Tried silence.

Tried white noise.

Tried movies.

Tried fake rain.

Tried classical music.

Tried forcing all the cats to sleep in my bedroom.

Tried making my lady friend sing me to "sleep." The Smiths style. She's got a heavenly voice but goddammit. Fucking keeps me awake.

Tried reducing my stress level.

Tried night-time tea. 4 cups later and I woke up and went screaming for the bathroom.

At this point, I'd rather just choose the alcohol. Or maybe start a Fight Club.

Have you tried this...
Cut out all processed food, mainly sugar..
No caffeine...
No food after 8pm...
This allows your body to have more of a break at night caus its not busy clearing toxins and still digesting food all night...

Not sure on your health level, but if you can, do some exercise, anything to exert yourself...

And a fat dab at the end of the day...

Maybe a t break would help, not at first of course.. but lowering tolerance might help ypu sleep...

Uuuummmm
How did you see this?
Are there pics? research of course

Voyeurism aside what is your sleep cycle?
Do you nap a lot?
Is your schedule flipped (night owl) or non existent?

The processed food advice is a good place to start
Along with the limits on eating prior to sleep
Sound advice from Kellya86
Look at your medications if you take any and see if you can shift something to earlier in the day
If you are having racing thoughts or anything like that then you need to speak to your MD
I cannot emphasize the importance of sleep

Along with eating too much garbage and bad carbs alcohol (too much) is notorious for making people wake up in the middle of the night.

I needed to be on a medication that interferes with my sleep for a long time. I would wake up every couple hours and never seemed to get into a deep sleep. I took myself off of it because of too many side effects, including hot flashes. It was a hormonal medication to help with keeping cancer away. They seem to treat all breast cancer that are hormone related the same, no matter if it’s a mild case or really bad. I’ve had a few doctors with a few different opinions on the subject so I decided to trust my gut.

I’m sleeping like a baby.

The sleeplessness continues.

At least I know it.

Although I have blackout periods that don't seem to incorporate sleep. My eyes look like red beet juice and people look at me like I'm from Mars. Which is why I now wear a Radiohead cap and sunglasses and mask and "cool weather turtleneck" anytime I go out. I look like The Invisible Man. Claude Rains would be jealous of my performance.

I have always suffered from sleep issues, sleepwalking was a big problem along with sleep apnea . What helped me the most was altering my diet and lifestyle. Kellya86 was right, cut out sugar and junk food. Loose any excess weight, stop drinking and smoking, cut out all caffeine... stop having fun  . Try using some CBN . It puts me out when nothing else works. I use my abv to make a MCT oil tincture or cannabutter for cookies !:smug:

I was thinking about starting a thread about dreams. I know most of you have lost your dreams but I’ve gotten mine back. They were lost for many years until I went on an anxiety medication soooo. They’re Back!

I’ve been having some very vivid dreams for about a year. Most involve running and hiding from someone or something. Sometimes I’m dreaming I can’t find my car. In my dream I’m late for work and get there a few hours in. Sometimes I’m trying to really yell at someone and I’m having a hard time talking. Or I can’t find the area where I work and I’m in a completely different town. Also having dreams walking all the way home from town, I live about 4 miles out of town. Same kind of dreams often.

Ive had several dreams that my husband is back (he passed away 3 yrs ago) and he has a girlfriend. Maybe even having sex in our bedroom! Early on I had dreams that my husband was back but we lived somewhere else. Once I told him that I was afraid people would think I made it up that he passed away now that he was back. I said we’re going to have to tell people. I only like having good dreams about him. I think the dreams are trying to help me deal with his death IMO. It’s helping me break away I believe. I will wake up and be mad at him.

Maybe this doesn’t belong here, It is a part of sleep.

I had a similar-esque dream-scape a couple weeks ago - the last time I can remember sleeping.

Back when I was married, this is circa 2006, I was convinced my wife was cheating on me with this little piece of shit. She went back to college, and made some new "friends," and was just "hanging out" with them. Yeah ... right. We all know what women do with their male "friends."

But she left me, and it became a moot point. And I let it go, and forgot about it. But 10 years later, I had a dream.

Short version: We were going to a concert, and she decided, at the last minute, to invite her "friend" to the concert. It was a big deal. And, in the dream, I asked her point blank if she was sleeping with him.

She started cackling like the Wicked Witch of the West, or Harley Quinn, and got out of my car and told me to go away. I was in some place that I didn't know and I drove off into oblivion until I woke up. How's that for symbolism?

Why the fuck would I think about that 10 years later?

I don't think people really understand what being cheated on feels like. It's akin to a dear friend or family member killing themselves. It haunts you. It scars you. It never goes away. It makes you "emotionally unavailable."

If you think you're getting away with it, you're incredibly wrong. Through various mediums, it's known. It ... is ... known.

Yeah, for the cheater, it makes you feel "alive." And "free." I don't want to be "tied down." Or the old, " I need to live my life." Which apparently means fucking anyone whose name you don't know who hits on you. Especially if they're from a different county than your birthplace. "I was travelling! It's no big deal."

"I'm so free!"

That's life, baby!

Have fun with that.

Decide if you want sex or a relationship/sex
Then put the time and effort into what you want
In the end never despair
There is sooooo much porn and limited time/semen

When i was a smoker i was a proper insomniac.. always had been... vaping soon sorted it out...
But what i used to do was 2 days on, 1 day off...
So jus stay awake for 2 days, then you will sleep the next night...
Worked ok for me for ages..
Also you get more shit done as you get an extra 8 hours of life every couple days...
