So i decided my misses needs a upgrade from her learner car.. its done well and lasted 3 years so far, only 100,000k on it.. just wasnt happy at 85/90mph on motorways..
Little black 1.2 seat replaced with volvo 1.6 r design...
Got from ebay for 500 quid... had a long list of problems and mot failures..
Needed a lower arm ball joint (riveted in, basterd to do)..
Rear anti roll bar drop links
Exhaust leak
Was losing power on hard acceleration, was just a 30 quid coil pack, owner thought it was major..
Had a host of headlight, indicator problems, kept blowing bulbs.. was water in the mirror indicator lense.. 10 mins to clean it, seal it, put back together and get all lights working..
Passenger seat stuck in forward position.. easy fix with a lever bar and hammer..
Mirror glass broken..
Washer jets blocked...
New tire needed..
New battery neeeded...
Few more little bits, but basically i got it all done in 1 weekend, and about 100 quid on parts... ready for its mot this week.. will be on road by saturday...
So a car someone thought was beyond fixing, is now a 2.5k car at least..
And the little seat 1.2 is now a desirable car due to insane fuel prices here.. so has doubled in value..
Paid 600 for it nearly 3 years ago.. now worth 1400..
So iv got a 2.5k volvo c30, and 800 profit coming from seat.. spent 600 on volvo so far, so im a volvo and 200 quid up...
Thats how i do motoring..
My 2.5k scoob is now worth 6.5k...
