wauw, this is giving me the inspiration to think this way for our coming up (one of the 10.000 jobs..)new dinning table.
I have tree slabs of useable wood 3000x650(mm)of seasoned Totara wood.
my original plan was to make two seating benches with it, but than you park your bum on that beautiful wood, and that is just not right.
Better look at it while you enjoy your food/tea/vape ,on top of it.win=win.
.I was thinking Straight from when I saw it ,(your table post),yes!although I also think of driftwood trunks as Pilars for the table,(they can look soo earthed
)I also have a massive wooden beam on the ceiling were I want to place it,....MMM choices....I feel right now like the hanging table idea.will make for a tidy tidy look. although I wouldn't go metal chains, To stay in line with my hobbies and passions, it has to hang from Dynema 3mm lines.(you can lift 15 tons with that.....always, blows me away technique like this available to us nowadays.)
