Tried a new recipe yesterday.... Marmalade-Glazed Pork Roast with Parsnips and Onions

Im about to enter my third week of no smell or taste after getting out of date covid..
It fucking sucks, i live for food and tasty vapes..
I jus cant enjoy anything now.. i might as well just eat dog food.. or put myself on a drip.

Crazy how when you cant taste, texture becomes everything.. i jus been eating things based on texture..

Has anyone else experienced this?? And if so how long did it take to get taste back ??

@Kellya86 I haven't had COVID, but had this same experience with a sinus infection. That lasted a couple weeks. From what I understand from those who have had this same thing from COVID... you are almost at the end of it. And yes it's okay to discuss how long it might take as long as we don't go nuts with COVID talk.

On another note... and perhaps something to look forward to Kellya86....

I've had it twice. The last time was the Delta . I feel for you. Nothing tastes good. In fact everything sucks. From no taste or smell, to the sleepless nights, and a malaise or depression . All three of our family got it , only my daughter and I had issues with taste and smell. It took us about a month after onset to gradually get some senses back. They came back slowly for us. It was gross but try scrapping your tongue and mouth and rinsing with salt water. It worked for me ,but it was short lived because an hour later I couldn't taste anything. Stay hydrated . Again , sorry to here your down, take care .

But thankfully today i can taste and smell again and its fucking amazing..
Everything seems extra tasty.. i am very happy..
Need to go shopping now.. i want duck, lamb, salmon, all of it.. im gonna eat so much in the next week..
Luckily for me im in a weight gain journey so i can eat and eat and eat without guilt....
Obviously i dont eat sugar and processed food.. id still feel bad about that...

Haven’t cooked in a week… and didn’t have the energy or patience to make it ‘pretty.’ But it was tasty.

So about once a week some of the crew and I have hot sauce / cooking competitons. A couple weeks ago was burgers. I'm at a disadvantage because I can only make fish burgers or my lady won't eat it. I'm sorry, but salmon is not a goddamn burger. A burger without bacon is also not a burger. And a burger without cheese but you're not lactose intolerant? You need to give on life.

About a week ago, we had a pizza competition. And wow did that get spirited.

When it comes to pizza, I'm a New York style guy. Crisp, simple, classic. Chicago style, that's not pizza - that's a pan full of tomato sauce and cheese. Tasty, yes, not pizza. Detroit style, also good. Neopolitan? Yeah, this isn't the 18th century anymore. Pizza Margherita? A bit boring, but good. When I order pizza I don't expect the wheel to be reinvented but put some life into it. Sicilian? You're seriously serving me a pizza with no cheese but anchovies? Fuck you. Greek, okay, but no cheddar on my pizza. Just ... no. St. Louis? Sure, but go easy on the oregano, FFS.

California pizza? No thanks. Disgusting. Mustard? Hazel nuts? Crab? Squash? A raw egg? What are these all your fucking leftovers? Worst pizza I ever had.

Fish on pizza? No. Absolutely not. Just fucking gross.

But people are passionate about their pizza and differing opinions abound. There were about as many different opinions here as there were buttholes.

Yet another hot chicken wings down the gauntlet! And yet again, I was the winner.

We had to do vegan wings again because some of the vegan and vegetarians wanted in. Yeah, they dropped out after Texas Pete "Hotter" Sauce. Sierra at least lasted to the Scorpion Hot Sauce.

But, as always, it came down to me and Jacob. And he simply cannot handle Carolina Reaper hot sauce. He just can't. Genes or something. So this is what broke him:
