I feel very fortunate
My cats only sharpen their claws on the mat at the front door (yes we have scratching posts and pads but those are for sleeping)
They do sleep in every pile of clothes dirty or not
Nothing like head rub after a big dive in the dirty sock pile
Yuck!!!!

Cats are weird, I once had a bulimic kitty. She loved to puke. The vet told us some cats love to vomit. Once or twice a month is normal. She would puke once a week easily .

My neighbour's cats vomit frequently, mine almost never, once a year at most and it's usually mouse parts.

If they hyper groom it can be every two weeks, indoor cats from the city

We have two monsters. Both work very hard to make sure the vet bill exceeds the electric bill! Chloe is nine & Scout momma) Scout is five.

My best friend.
Before he is on duty every morning he gets a quick brushing and gets his ears cleaned.
Extremely active German Shepherd Dogs do well to have regular ear cleaning, due to the wide open nature of their ears.
He doesn't like it, but he allows it.
While I am brushing him, you might see him look up at the ear medicine with the corner of his eye.
