I used a solder work holder to place the probe tip right in the middle of the dish and keep it there (not quite touching the center of the channel). You have to leave the probe on for quite a while to get a stable reading. So either I'm vaping rosin way low or I'm still not getting a good reading.
That sounds about right to me @Shredder, at least with my setup enail+coil combo. I have 580F on the PID and dish temps are around 460-470View attachment 12259View attachment 12260
I've tested it with a few probes and thermometers, always around -110-130F difference depending on where I measure.
The Auber RDK-300 has a variable for temp offset but TBH, I never use it. I'm sure the advanced MaxVapor has similar or even more sophisticated features.I used a solder work holder to place the probe tip right in the middle of the dish and keep it there (not quite touching the center of the channel). What type of PID controller are you using, you may be able to adjust the temperature delta as @Baron23 has talked about before...I fink?
Drool...Speaking of hurting wallets, I am too scared to ask what the new Sapphire SiC setup is but it looks nice, no Ti, SiC nut and WPA,

Apparently, Brian at Dnail has sent me the quartz washer/heat shield to help with my dropdown problems.
I like the ruby ones much more than the quartzLate to the party, but a friend of a friend gave me two quartz terp pearls for my sic dish. They seem a little big, but they worked surprisingly well, and so I ordered some 5mm Ruby pearls.

Great addition to the halo :)
I don't find clean up time much different myselfI also was able to turn down my enail to 490°F witch is actually around 420°F. Still got nice rich vapor and quite a few hits. Maybe more hits with pearls?
I've been using 515°F and finishing around 545°F without pearls.
Downsides are they do add to clean up time, and sooner or later I'll loose some, lol.

I don't take them out when swabbing the dish
I dab at 500 and finish at about 560-580 these days with pearls
Not sure what that is on the dish itself
I do think I get a more complete extraction with pearls
And a bit smoother with ruby
I have lost a couple at times though lol
I just leave them in and swabMaybe I'm overthinking my cleaning. I've been taking the pearls out with tweezers and cleaning them with a alcohol prep pad.
Same as the ones I use I thinkI just ordered some 4mm ruby balls that should work nicely in the slim Halo channel,
