Just got home from the beach and was greeted by the smell of the magnolias

The May/June blooming Kousa dogwood flowers after the leaves come out unlike the native dogwood that flowers before the leaves appear. Nice little tree.

My brother from da same mom has many cactus plant’s around his beach house?
Cactus is in fashion in da southern end de la state I call home?

It is an Astrophytum Myriostigma Quadricostatum nudum. Commonly called a Bishops Cap. It is native to Mexico. It's a lovely spinless cactus that's attractive year round.

With all the construction I've had at my house, my garden was dug up and put in pots for almost a year. We were finally able to replant and things are starting to look more 'normal' again. A couple things that are blooming:

My Aloe is going to bloom soon!!

Was walking around my yard looking at the damage from the two ice storms and the snow storm we got in the last couple weeks. There are several bushes and small trees that have limbs that have snapped. And the top of one of our pines has also snapped along with some uprooted Arborvitae.

BUT.... lo and behold......
