Today was patient appreciation day at my favorite dispensary , BOGO on all sorts of goodies . I bought 4 grams of shatter, 1 grams of crumble ( freebie ), 1 gram of RSO, and a free pr-roll, all for $60 out the door , the quality is spot on. I'll use the shatter for butter, and the RSO is a new product by Venom . It is kick ass and #1 for pain $20 per gram, which is great pricing for 1000mg of RSO oil .

Yesterday was a good day to purchase. Every month they have patient appreciation day BOGO, great deals and i shop here often so I have store credits. The stuff I get is mid range, some decent buds $100 an oz, the concentrates seem to be getting way better, $18 a gram, and popcorn buds are $80 an oz.

Always changes colour and texture a bit as it cures
After about a week it seems to find its final form as much as it will - if it lasts that long hahaa

Did a test press on a tiny 3.5g load, hand stuffed bottletech, 96c (203f) (which is at my usual high end temp), low pressure of 1500psi and only 3 minutes total time on the press, 30 seconds pre-heat, 30 seconds to pump up to pressure, and 2 minutes of adding pumps to keep the pressure constant at 1500psi. Not a large yield...about 16%, but rather nice looking,

Collected and whipped/warmed to make dosing easier and more consistent,

If it was a diamond you would say it has few inclusions...

Well, it has been open at room temp since I pressed it, it will be gone tomorrow ready for more.

I have a question for all the the rosin folks, can you press kief ? I've heard different opinions . I have no experience in squishing other than dabbing it . How does temperature affects your yield ? And what temperature yields the tastiest product ? Is there a sweet spot on time and temp ?

The different combinations of heat/time/pressure produce different flavours, hits and texture
They can all affect yield too
More heat less pressure or more pressure less heat can produce similar yields (depending on the combo) but will have a different looking/tasting rosin
Each combination will have a sweet spot that you have to find yourself
You start to work out which combos are best for your needs
Some will give a really tasty and light rosin but less yield and lighter hit
Some give heavier more full rosin and hit but different flavours
Different combos can give different tastes/notes

Squishing kief is a great way to use it
It's similar to squishing bubble hash but you get a lower yield as there is more plant material in it

Did a 15g press with the same parameters as above (except I hit 1500psi, not 1300) but had a big bag blow-out, not much plant matter to pick out, about 17% total yield again...drip tech this time,

This week-ends attempt, still got another blow-out trying to slowly add pressure and and still get up to 1250psi in under 3 minutes total time (16.3% return) on a 15g 40mm puck, still pretty good. I will just pick out the plant material to add to a flower bowl,

These bags seem good as they are not blowing out on the seams, just out sideways on the plates...I might be pressing down too soon, I will make sure I wait the full 30 seconds pre-heat before adding pressure

Looks like Sunday down south slab day...not dueling banjos, but dueling Dabpress!

Pressed the same puck 3 times for 3 different concentrates, the last press, no blow-out this time, perfect puck?

The receipts, OK refers to bud quality,

And the final result, just shy of 18% return total,
