@ataxian I had to go back through pictures of everything I've done the other day. Very weird looking back at it all.
Final Ti pieces in my grubby mitts today.
First one assembled
And turned Yew, alternative Amber with black and brass accents.
Had a couple of these aluminium 'heatsinks' made up to accept the Ti inserts. Turned a couple of pieces to see how they look, Ace of Spades stem is one.
Like where I can take them so got more cylindrical along with some reuleaux triangles and squares coming.
Being aluminium they open up a new world for me.
Hard anodising is on the cards. Great wear resistance and plenty of colours to go at.
Black will be the first colour as there are plans for it.

Started taking custom orders today and put a third one of these together. Feedback is going to be interesting.
Desert Ironwood with Gold Juma and brass and black accents.
Maple Burr IH tested which of course means they are for sale.

Had some positive and some as expected feedback on Ironwood/Juma stem.
It works but as with all 3 in this design needs a bit of tweeking.
Once the other 2 get back to me I'll know if it's worth doing a couple more with the parts I have. As ever things are in the planning to get the parts made specifically for this idea.
Gabon Ebony with Cherry Conway Stewart MP, black silver and red accents starting life like this.
Having contact with a customer from start to finish means they can have an input as the piece gets made.
The idea was to shape the body around area where the accents are. I sent the above picture and got an edited one back with an orange line on it asking if possible could I use the shape the line gave.
It works but as with all 3 in this design needs a bit of tweeking.

I could string everyone along by saying I've tossed, turned, ummed, aahed and had sleepless nights trying to work this particular design out so I could get it to market but that would be absolute bolox, sorry marketing spiel.
