Many thanks @Ed's TnT, got a different piece to try out once the tools arrive.

Had a piece of Spalted Tamarind sent down from a guy up in Scotland.
Lovely piece of wood with loads going on in it.
There may be enough left over for a couple of stems.
Not for the faint hearted and one of those jobs where you need to be on the ball at all times.
Off centre turning.

@momofthegoons I'm hoping to fit an LED into the acrylic as a power 'on' indicator.
It's only after the fact that I've realised I have a chuck I could of used which would have meant no plastic plug.

Postman was good to me today. A nice handful of BW blanks and a Lipo arrived with this.
Who knew I'd be taking so much care of my nails as I got older.

Padauk richens to a dark burgundy colour as it ages, a far cry from the bright orangy and red dust it leaves everywhere.

@momofthegoons there is a good choice of podiatrist tools at the place I got this one from so I can offer different style handles and scoopy dabby things.

Bocote and Blackwood roughed out ready for the next step. Messy job going from square to round.
The Bocote gets cut in half while the BW gets cut down to inch lengths.

LOL! I felt the same emotion when I saw the scoopy dabby thing. And I’ve only just received this yesterday afternoon:

Now after seeing this, please anybody, feel free to explain how I can avoid needing one of the scoopy dabby tools. Because to me, it seems like it’s personal. FML. Now I’ll be wondering all weekend if all of those blanks are spoken for already & how to justify buying one to myself!

Love ya man, you know I’m just playing. But why not go on & tell us how we can theoretically get one: list, IG or other?

@pxl_jockey good to see the stem arrived safely.

The Bocote are all spoken for but I have more and it's always available.
Scoopy Dabby things will more than likely just be one of those things I do a batch of.

Had to order some inch and a half square blanks for a couple of cases I'm doing. They need a final drill at 21mm for the tubes.


A couple of the lengths of BW got partially parted with a homemade skinny tool. Final cut thru is with a saw, they take off if you part off fully.

Makes you realise how much of a difference there is in the size of blanks I got for the cases.

The silver bush is for the kit to make this Jr Gentleman pen.

^ Thats lovely my man, truly. Any pics of the completed Bocote & Blackwood scoopy dabby things? Can you tell us the overall length (approx) of these things? I’ll be in touch for sure, hopefully I can get in on the next batch. Something magical happens when you turn Bocote into round, imo.

Seems like you’re juggling a lot of different types of work these days, in addition to maintaining your social media empire! Not enough hours in the day when your initials are PP, man, I’d settle for half of your energy these days. Loving the creativity!

@pxl_jockey the BW and Bocote are for stems but there is no reason why I can't do segmented Scoopy Dabby Thingies.

@momofthegoons music is important to me and it makes videos easier to watch. Some of the syncing is pure fluke.

@Fat Freddy and Mom I've always been hands on and known I had a creative mind just never really had a chance to show it until now.

The bug has well and truly bitten me and it's bitten hard.
Hopefully I can get everything that's on my mind now out there into usable objects freeing up a bit of space for more ideas before my head pops.

One of two cases done, there are recessed Bocote plugs at either end so there's as little rattle as possible.


I got sent this video a while back from someone who knows my quandary as far as orders and lists go.

As much as it's been a great two and a bit years at times it's been more frustrating than my phone.
I've been let down and buggered around on too many occasions and it's taken a bit of sparkle out of it.

Now I know that we all have lives outside of the weed world and shit happens sometimes but when people ask me to make them a piece and as soon as it's done they disappear into the internet ether it's annoying.
I can always sell the piece but it's more about the wasted time than anything else.

Or someone will ask me to hold onto a piece that I've made outside of orders, which I've been happy to do, and they bugger off.
Whilst I've been holding these pieces I've missed out on a possible sale to someone else who's enquired about them.

Things have to change and I'll be giving Mr Knights method a whirl for a while, it may not work out but I have to try.
Anyone I'm working on pieces for at the moment please disregard the following this does not effect you.

From today I no longer run a list system.
If you want a piece making feel free to contact me and I'll see what I can do.

I will be doing an order for a US online retailer and there will be another drop of stems with The Hedonist Club over here in the UK at some point.

To weed out the tyre kickers and time wasters I now require payment in full before I start anything, this won't be like a pre order and wait forever situation you only pay me when I start.
Hagglers are welcome but you'll find that I don't play that game.

They will be sold to whomever pays for them first, I no longer hold pieces for anyone.

There is plenty of stuff I've been asked to work on other than stems and there's always stuff I'm doing just for shits and giggles.
Plus I know you good people all love a bit of woodporn so I'm going to be posting pics and video here just the same as I have done in the past.

The CNC shop has been in touch and if he's managed to stay on course I'll be restocked with Ti HE's and inserts in the next week.
I'm really looking forward to getting the bit between my teeth again and getting some stuff turned that I know has been well received and enquired about all the time.

All my IH enclosures will be built around @Pipes tried and tested set up and come to pieces easily if needs be.
The Coconut and Spalted Tamarind is up and running, LED power on indicator helps locate the glass tube when used in low light. Amazing how smooth the hairy shell is now.
No umbrellas or hip hop remix of Copacabana but I got sparklers.


It's the local turning association annual do on Sunday so I'll be in a village hall full of grey haired old men

CNC shop got in touch today so I will be restocked with Ti parts which will be nice.

Turned myself a new stem today, I needed to check how much heat would transfer thru the acrylic so the last Ti insert I had got used up.
Being all one piece means if needs be the whole stem can go in some Iso. Full SS condenser to keep the vapor path clean.

Adjusted the bushing I was using and went to far so it's marked the Ti but it's my stem and gets hidden when the tip is in place.
