I picked up this piece of Yew at the local turning clubs annual do and straight away I could see there was going to be something nice come out of it.
Didn't realise until I'd cut into it just how nice.
The foot adds another dimension to the already pretty grain pattern.
Of course it had to go thru a test run.
Waiting on some new packaging to arrive before I send out a group of stems to the high altitude retailer we all know and love.
May have to put someone else's name on the package as last time someone ate all the chocolate to themselves.
They shall remain nameless, tall but nameless.
The Yew IH is being sent out with this stem.
Customer request was a lidded green acrylic. I showed them a mesh swirl one that I'd roughed out and I was going to use it until I spotted this one.
Not this time @Fat Freddy and you'll be pleased to know it's you people have been assuming pieces are being made for these days.
I'm not going to spoil the guesses since I saw the answer earlier... but way cool phatts. Sort of serendipitous as well.Another piece of the mystery 'wood' got taken a step further today.
Lovely to turn and finished so smoothly, big hint as to the species in this picture.
